Camping & RVs

Group Tent Camping

Fleagle Park is our group camping area. It is vehicle accessible from Crystal Falls Road, but not from the main campus. It is foot accessible from the main campus via a pretty stone bridge crossing Mt. Aetna Creek. It is not accessible to RVs.

Fleagle Park features a roofed pavilion containing:

  • Picnic tables with unattached bench seating for about 40, with space for more tables
  • A stone fireplace
  • A 10 burner gas range and double oven
  • A home style, electric refrigerator/freezer.
  • Electric lights

There is no water supply at Fleagle, but containers can be filled at various locations in the village areas.

A bathhouse is provided for tent campers, but it is a 200-yard walk from Fleagle. Each side of the bathhouse has two showers, five toilets, and four sinks.

The main tent area is relatively level, but viewable from public roads. Three secluded, purpose built tent pads are located between the pavilion and the stone foot bridge.

Speak to our Reservationist about other options if you have a fewer tenters staying with a group lodging in cabins, or if you have a large Chesapeake Conference affiliated youth group.

RV Camping

Mt. Aetna currently has no designed spaces for RVs, however, there are two locations near Oak Lodge where they can be parked and hooked up to electricity and water. No sewer hookups are available at this time, but a sewer dumpsite is available about a mile away.

Terrace Campground

Mt. Aetna manages Terrace Campground on the campus of Highland View Academy. This facility is available to groups affilitated with Chesapeake Conference. The campground includes over 50 sites with hookups, over 50 concrete tent pads for wall tents, and an open field that could house a large number of self supporting tents. Two modern bath houses provide toilet and shower facilities. The campground is closed from mid-November to mid-April.
